September City Hall on the Go Citizenship and Government

CHOTG Citizenship and Government outdoor class is to enlighten students about civic pride, government and inspire them to become active members in their community.  Students are relaxed outside of the normal classroom and encouraged to ask questions of the presenter’s personal and professional experiences and why they became involved in government.


Durham City Budget Director, Bertha Johnson spoke with 83 students at Carter Community Charter School located at 1955 W Cornwallis Road.


Marvin Williams, Director of Public Works spoke with 90 students at Hillandale      Elementary School located 2730 Hillandale Road.



City of Durham Attorney Patrick Baker, with 107 students at Sandy Ridge Elementary School located 1417 Old Oxford Road.
