The Community Engagement Division strives to inform, engage, partner and empower the Durham community. As part of this goal, we can use our website to promote community events that encourage community building.  To be eligible for us to publicize your event, the event must meet the following criteria.

  • Event must be free and open to the public
  • Event must have a primary purpose of community-building
  • Event must be non-partisan

    PAC1 Career Fair Expo

    This is a job fair hosted by PAC/ District 1 and operated by the PAC/ District 1 Economic Development Committee. The purpose of this event is to provide the community with jobs that are offering livable wages and long term employment. Leading up to the career fair we will also hold two workshops on Tuesday 3.26.19 and Thursday 3.28.19. The workshops will focus on resume building, dressing for success and mock interviews.

    Angier Business and Children's Center Grand Opening

    Celebrate the East Durham community and the grand opening of the Angier Business & Children's Center (ABC Center) at the corner of Angier Ave and Driver St. There will be food, music, kids’ activities, tenant meet-and-greet, and more. This event is free and open to the public.

    Bull City Madness

    Bull City Madness is more than just a basketball tournament - it's a chance to celebrate a city that has changed basketball throughout the world. Come out to celebrate Durham's rich history of basketball, bring the community together, and raise support for non-profits making an impact in Durham. It will be fun for players and spectators alike, with games, free food, and activities for kids! While basketball teams have to pay a registration fee, the event is free for all spectators.     Drew Granby Park in Durham, NC

    Albright Community Cleanup

    Join us at Drew Granby Park for a community cleanup day. Please wear sturdy shoes, a long-sleeved shirt and long pants that you don't mind getting dirty. Hats and sunglasses are also recommended. Please bring a reusable water bottle if you have one. ECWA will provide trash pickers, trash/recycle bags, gloves, creek boots as well as snacks and water. Sign up here.
