Faith Summit on Racism and Child Poverty

Co-hosted by EUAR and End Poverty Durham, the 2019 Faith Summit is a convening to share best practices in anti-racism and anti-poverty work, as well as increase interfaith collaboration towards dismantling racism and ending poverty in our community.
Participants will:
1. Gain awareness and understanding of racism as the root cause of child poverty.
2. Discover resources/services already happening in Durham to reduce racism and child poverty.
3. Create collaborative steps for congregations and organizations to work together to reduce racism and child poverty in Durham.

"Session One: Framing Radical Discourse" Join us as we learn with Yavilah McCoy as she sets the framework for what radical discourse is and why it is so important for our Jewish community.
March 18, 2019, 7pm-8:30pm
"Playing Nice in the Playground – A Lesson Even for Adults"
Join us as we dig into how to practice radical discourse on an every day basis, led by Joy Brand Richardson of JCC Association and Donna Richardson. Light refreshments will be served.
April 15, 2019, "Table Talk Conversations Dinner and Discussion" 6pm-8pm
Together, we'll explore, over dinner and utilizing the Anti-Defamation League's Table Talk Conversation program, strategies for using radical discourse in our daily lives. Dinner will be provided.
