In partnership with the YMCA’s Togetherhood, we’re transforming Community Preschool at Lakewood’s blank wooden fence into a colorful, nature-inspired work of art. In early June, volunteers from Westminster Presbyterian Church white-washed the fence. Now, local artist and Lakewood Montessori Middle School Art Teacher, Delvecchio Faison, is painting scenes of butterflies, ladybugs, and other animals

In 90 degree weather, hundreds of residents came out to celebrate Father’s Day and the Eighth Annual Driver Open Street Festival. Neighbors were able to enjoy games, moonbounces, music, and even had the opportunity to try their hand at pottery! Thank you to everyone who came out, and we are already looking forward to the Ninth Annual Driver Open Street Festival.

Neighborhood Improvement Services Awarded North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Fall 2017 Health Grant
The NCCU project proposes to utilize the campus garden to provide educational resources to the campus and the community surrounding the university.
