Neighborhood Improvement Services Awarded North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Fall 2017 Health Grant

The NCCU project proposes to utilize the campus garden to provide educational resources to the campus and the community surrounding the university. The project will demonstrate healthy growing options and food choices through a series of student-led activities to provide small and accessible garden education.

 

The program will be culminated with a celebration to showcase the interdisciplinary engagement surrounding sustainable gardening. The project will also install a wheelchair accessible planter and raised beds.  Partners include NCCU Campus Garden Committee, NCCU Campus Pantry, NCCU faculty members, NCCU students, local high school students and community residents.
