Equitable Community Engagement Community Meeting

Equitable Community Engagement Community Meeting

You are invited to help draft Durham's Equitable Engagement Plan!!!

On August 6, 2018, City Council received a presentation on the Durham Belt Line Trail Master Plan and conducted a public hearing to adopt the Plan. City Council adopted the Master Plan following the public comments. Within its motion to adopt, Council requested “an engagement plan from the administration in 90 days that is going to allow the City to create a racial equity plan regarding the Belt Line.”

To guide this engagement plan and other future engagement efforts, the City’s Community Engagement Team began development of an Equitable Community Engagement Blueprint. The Blueprint is a working draft that will be continuously updated based on community conversations and the results of upcoming City pilot initiatives. The Equitable Community Engagement Blueprint informed the Equitable Engagement Plan for the Durham Belt Line Trail.

This meeting will focus on presenting the Blueprint and Belt Line Plan before the November 20th City Council Work session to receive community feedback.
