Durham Cultural and Public Arts Program Pre-Qualified Artists Registry Now Open for Submissions

Durham Cultural and Public Arts Program Pre-Qualified Artists Registry Now Open for Submissions

March 11 Submission Deadline

The City of Durham Cultural and Public Arts Program now invites artists and artist teams to submit portfolios to be selected to join the City of Durham Pre-Qualified Artists Registry.

This registry will serve as a resource for the selection of artist and artist teams to create City cultural and public art projects. Access to a pre-determined network of qualified professional artists strengthens and streamlines the process and allows for greater capacity building within the arts community.

The Pre-Qualified Artists Registry is now open for submissions through March 11, 2019. Candidates are eligible regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender identification, military status, sexual orientation, marital status, or physical ability. Artists who are selected to join the registry are encouraged to apply to any additional open calls issued by the City of Durham Public Arts Program, provided they meet eligibility requirements.

An Artist Selection Committee comprised of City staff, members of the Public Art Committee, visual art/design professionals, and other community members will evaluate application portfolios for inclusion in the registry.

All submissions must be in digital format and include an artist statement, a résumé, high-resolution images, and strong references. For full details and to access the submission portal, visit the City’s Call for Artists webpage. For more information about this registry, contact Special     Projects Manager Stacey Poston with the City’s General Services Department at (919) 560-4197, ext. 21254 or by emailing [email protected].
