Creating an Equitable Durham: Lessons from the 11th Street Bridge Park with Vaughn Perry

Join us for a presentation from Vaughn Perry, the 11th Street Bridge Park's equitable development manager, about the park’s equitable development process and implementation strategy. It will be followed by a facilitated discussion and dreaming session led by community leaders about the Durham’s Belt Line equitable development goals and other engagement processes. In November 2018, the City of Durham created drafts of an equitable community engagement blueprint and a Durham Belt Line equitable development plan roadmap in response to community concerns about lack of representation in the Belt Line engagement and design. Let’s begin the process of envisioning public green space that centers historically disenfranchised community members and benefits everyone.
