CHOTG Citizenship & Government Partners with National Public Works Week
From building roads and sidewalks, to generating clean water and emergency disaster planning, public works services significantly affect our community’s quality of life. In recognition of public works’ impact, the City of Durham celebrated the American Public Works Association’s National Public Works Week.
The City of Durham’s Public Works Department hosted Touch-a-Truck event on May 21, 2018 at Holt Elementary school located at 4019 Holt School Road. This event gave an opportunity to teach children how public works jobs serve our community.
Not only did the students get to see the equipment used on a daily basis, but some of the students were able go inside the trucks and see from an operators point of view.
